Digitally Manipulating Your Photographs

If you are worried that there is too much noise in your photo, or that you took the perfect shot, just not with the right camera, just remedy the problem. Use a graphics editor – any will do, and your picture will turn out fine – maybe even artistic, if that is what you want. The most powerful graphics editor allows you to turn the picture inside out, change any part of the photo you don’t like, and really, a simple photo digitally remastered is more of an artwork than a photograph.

You can easily find a photography community that in fact teaches its members how to recreate more artistic shots. Some applications can only do so much, but with the number of tools available at your disposal – free tools at that, any picture has the potential of becoming a masterpiece. So go and unearth any old photos you might have taken – in fact, if the photo is still on film, it is not a limitation. Just have it scanned properly, and you have digitalized working material to begin your masterpiece.

However, if you are a purist, you can find an online photo sharing community that frowns on such practices. It is difficult to pass of recreated work as untouched, though – the file format of the photo often has a signature of the camera maker, and when you edit the photograph, that signature is erased. So join the right picture sharing community before you try passing off a recreated photograph as the original.
