The Yacht Named Stars and Stripes

A more patriotic name could not have been picked for such a yacht racing champion as the Stars and Stripes. This vessel was designed and built for yacht racing competitions; it indeed won the Citizen Cup in 1995. This famous sailing yacht is part of the sailing fleet that dots San Diego Bay. At a length of eighty feet and a guest capacity of twenty, this yacht is comfortable. It is one of the only two yachts in San Diego Bay licensed to carry twenty guests; others are licensed for only eighteen. The other sailing yacht licensed for twenty guests, Abracadabra, is part of the same fleet, and can be chartered in tandem so that both yachts can be used by groups of yacht racing enthusiasts.

The only fleet that allows competition standard yachts to be used by tour groups wanting to get a piece of yacht racing, action is right in San Diego Bay. Chartering both yachts to organize racing for large office groups, or tour groups is new and exciting. Crew members will call on some race sailing action assistance from guests mid-race to add to the excitement. Guests do not need to have yacht racing skills, although there is a test run before the race. Getting into the race on the Stars & Stripes adds an air of high-energy because it is a real competition standard yacht. Besides raising adrenalin levels, yacht racing between groups on separate vessels is a unique way to have fun.
