When manufacturing a remote control transmitter, there are several factors that have to be considered. These factors influence the efficiency and effectiveness of the transmitter. In general, there are three factors that are crucial during the manufacture of the transmitter. These factors are discussed in more detail below.
- Enclosure selected – just like in other products the enclosure for a transmitter will vary according to the material and overall design. There are enclosures that are made of very light material. Though these enclosures make the transmitters easy to carry two different places, they are not very durable. More solid and hard materials for making the enclosures also exist. These materials offer greater durability. They are also water proof, which is a very important quality.
- Encoding chip supported – The type of encoding chip that is used to make the transmitter is the most important consideration during the manufacturing process since it determines the security features that the transmitter offers. There are three main types of encoding chips available for manufacture of transmitters. They include fixed code, learning code and the rolling code. Of the three rolling, code is associated with high security features.
- Transmitting frequency – this can be described as the frequency or range within which a remote control transmitter and receiver acts within. Different transmitters have various frequencies. Some are the medium range which means they can only transmit within a short distance usually 100-200 meters while others are long range meaning they can transmit within longer distances, for example, 500-1000 meters. Frequency is expressed in MHZ.
